Crew Athletics

So last year was the First Annual Crew Thanksgiving Golf outting. Are we up for doing something similar this year?

Do y'all still want to golf? We could do a football game, ultimate frisbee, basketball, maybe a bracketed doubles tennis tournament? Maybe we combine 2 or 3 sports and do an all day event. Maybe even a little Quidditch...

Just wanted to get y'alls thoughts so we can start coordinating this if we need to get tee times, schedule tennis courts, find a field...

Also would Friday be the best day? Is anyone not going to be around next weekend?

Let's get something going because last year was an absolute blast. All about being hungover from Thanksgiving night Oasis and getting up way too early to run around with veteran crew members.

Sorry I'll miss out on the Crew's Thanksgiving athletics -- that sounds like a blast!

I'll be up here in D-Town con La Familia Sessions & Co.; thinking about running the 3K Turkey Trot!

D Sesh and K Dal, you'll be sorely missed. 2010 Thanksgiving Crew Athletics will be one to look out for.

Frisbee or football sounds awesome. If we go frisbee we can probably recruit some local hippies too.

St. Matthews would provide a proper pitch for a number of activities.

Oh you know i'm in for some golf. i think golf and tennis would be easiest. football requires too many people.

i'll be around for most of the weekend. getting in wed and probably leaving saturday but could stay till sunday.

what are the course rates?

I think that st. matthew freesbie/football is the way to go, I think we will have ten easy...golf is too much of a commitment I think, from a time stand point and logstics stand point...I have been talking with some people and I think we will have plently, whats wrong a lil atx hippie dont want to see what SA has to offer

st matthews frisbee/football sounds good to me. i'll bring a basketball too because they have a pretty nice court (glass backboards, sport court... it's playa). just to get us warmed up.

don't have a frisbee or football though.. also what time do y'all wanna play? mid morning? maybe las palapas meet up before? or after?

also, should we get in touch with St Matthews beforehand?

I will torch anyone on the frisbee field.

I'll play friz, but my first choice is golf

Golf isnt that big of a time commitment. Its actually easier because you set a time, everyone has to show up, and you can get drunk while you play. Last year we started at like 10 and we were done by 2 or so. We played a scramble with 2 teams, had a little side bet, and it was one of my most memorable days of 2008. Anyone can play in a scramble, even you Mety.

further comments to be made only by people attending...and not that its that much harder, but freesbie will be like an hour maybe two, not rushing, to get to a time here, then only ride with 4....we will get some 6-6 action maybe...bring the b camacho, ill bring the game

so maybe a 10:30 meet up at St. Matthews?

should we eat before? i think i'll chag if i drink till 2, eat tacos at 9, and hit up frisbee at 10..

maybe an earlier meet up with food after?

I'm willing to try and pull off some golf too. This is my first choice, by far.

If not, I can toss the disc around, but only if Ryan chags a little.

Good to hear from you c-money, whats your new number again, now this is crazy, but stay with me.....what if we meet at 10 for some freesbie, this will be for the people who only can commit x amount of time...i'm even down for 930...i envision i will go out on wed night big, then easy or not at all on thursday, so ill be fresh on friday....so back to the point, we meet 930-10 for some fressbie...B weiss lives right down the street, maybe those who want to golf shower there, then hit the tees by 1 or 2...those not golfing go eat....I see why people who want to golf, but I got a fever, and a lil ultimate is the only thing that kind cure it, we havent played forever...and we got good numbers, gregalo, ryno, camacho, alex-o, chris todd-o, c-money-yo, mety yo, b-weiss, dan....thats ten right there confirmed...and i bet 4 more might make it....7 on 7 or 6 on 6.....money...atherton looks like a go too, then maybe cervanka....ULTIMATE!!!

More people will skip out on frisbee than golf. Golf is much more of a commitment.

"Hey, do you want to play golf tomorrow, we are getting a 10 AM tee time?" says Ryan.

"Sure, that sounds great!" says Ricky Schroder. "10 AM you say?"

"Yes, 10 AM at the course behind Bluffview" Ryan says.

"You mean Silver Horn??" asks Ricky.

"Yes, Silver Horn at 10. BYOB" Ryan confirms.

"I dont drink." says Ricky

"That's too bad." says Ryan "I gonna hit up the restroom, Ill see you tomorrow at 10"

Now I guarantee you that Ricky Shroder will be there at 9:45

Golf is much more of a commitment, thats why its not a good idea for friday....talked with the c-money and he talked about golf saturday...coach if you have lost a step in your game in your old age and golf is more your game let me know....i just figured a lil physical activity would be good, and I know some people dont have 4-6 hours to give up on friday, this way freesbie is come as you are...byob....but the other b...there is a new par 3 going up by momaks, next time you make it in kevin we will hit it up...Freesbie on friday it is...

Although I was skeptical at first, the frisbee game turned out to be a lot of fun. We ended up having enough and everyone played well.

Everything was capped off perfectly by metcalf blowing chunks to the thought of potent shots, warm milk, and placenta. Hilarity ensued for about 10 minutes.

Thanks for organizing and i look forward to next year
