No staging, just a random picture taken before the digital camera days. Ryan offering Dallas some Medicated Chapstick. Dallas is taken back a bit, seems a little nervous about the offer. Im adding a some pressure, or perhaps maybe I am interested in a little chapstick for myself. Apparently I dont mind drinking tallboy Bud Heavy's during football season. Joel Goff stops on dime to see what's going on, probably wants in on it, ..whatever it is. Or is he just posing for the picture???

After a few months of laughing at the original chapstick pic, we kind of threw together a spontaneous remake one drunken night early in the Summer of 2000. Myself and Joel are absent for #2, but Mety is playing the role of me, and that might be Christy Lee in the background playing the role of Joel. Everyone is a bit more lighthearted this time around. Looks like we went with Cherry chapstick this time around too, maybe that's what lighted the mood.
The 2nd Remake - Winter 2010

Ten years later and we're still talking about it. This is actually a really close remake, however, our positioning is way off. Ryan is back to the Medicated Stick, which accurate from the original and we nearly nailed the facial expressions. But I have way too much hair and I have gone away from tallboy Bud Heavy days to Miller Light out of a bottle. We are all wearing button down shirts, something that would never happen in '99, unless we were at Church.

Damn we almost had it! This time it was the cameraman's fault (aka bad instructing on my part) for taking the picture vertical. You cant really see Dallas' facial expression, but it does look like he just packed a massive Bear in the front of his mouth. Medicated Chapstick again though (Ryan's always on top of attention to detail). Looks like I got a haircut and moved onto Bud Light Lime in a bottle (what's happening to me?). Joel, how many buttons are you down on that shirt? Was someone getting some Joel Goff lovin? D-Ses is down to his undershirt, always a good late night look. I love the background setting with the Churchill balloons and the Texas Flag in the back.
Oh, and then there is this one,... Shitstick getting in the way of our chapstick photo..

1. The Classic. the one that started it all. this one has to be #1. one of the most iconic pictures in crew history.
2. Winter 2010 Remake. This one's tough because Winter 2010 and Summer 2010 are neck and neck. Also, I think Joel has the same amount of buttons undone in both pics.
3. Summer 2010 Remake. I have to say, in looking at these, Dallas is so consistent with his expression. very impressive.
4. I have to give it to the new blood. dan getting in the picture really adds some dimension without taking anything away somehow. everyone does a good job of staying in character too.
5. 1st Remake. being in last place in the chap stick pictures is by no means a slight. i just think we lost sight, well me especially, of the bigger picture.
looking at them again, #2 and #3 can be switched. the background in the summer 2010 picture is too perfect.
also note the fridge between joel and me and the microwave between joel and dallas in the winter 2010 pic. kinda helps bring it together.
I'm torn between the orginal and remake #1, I wish you could take Rave'ing Ryan from remake #1 and put him in the orignal, then it would make sense why Dallas is so hesitant in accepting chapstick from a rave'ing party boy. No telling what kind of mind altering chemicals would be transfered on that medicated stick.
Also I'm offended you state that remake #3 was taken at Joel and Stephanie's house. Not cool.
And I need new material from Dan, I;ve seen the "how are yooou!" or "da dada da da" stumbling bowed out chest, cocked neck look too many times. J/K Dan, keep it up.

Personally, I think they're all very impressive. The OG Chapstick Pic is obviuosly a classic, but the rest are pretty good too (even when Chiefy cuts in).
I think Joel still has that polo from the Classic pic. Also, Ryan, it looks like you have your arm around me, something we need to take note of for a future chapstick pic.
In the 1st Remake, Ryan is the Raver, Mety is wearing a Buffett shirt, and Dallas is Abercrombie. Yes, that is Christy Lee in the background playing the role of Joel.

No, it was definitely at Valerie's. I remember that night, it was when Dan broke the patio chair outside and we had to take it to Mr. Robel to weld it back together. This was after Senior year too, you did not start dating Kelly Evans until 2001 I believe?
LOL....The original is still the best as its more natural but I love to see the evolution...tells a hundred stories. Keep em coming. Nice post K-Dal!
