Crew Hunt

Not to undermine the dominant sports theme of The Funboys Blogspot, but just thought I'd see if anybody from the Crew is interested in putting together some sort of hunt for the bird season next Fall . . . we could easily put together a hunt somwhere in north or south Texas. Otherwise, it might be fun to do a campout somewhere next Fall (Perdenales Falls, Enchanted Rock, etc.) and do some other recreation (rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.). Thoughts?

Dallas, I will glady give you some feedback on this proposal in a timely manner as soon I as receive some feedback from you. You know what I'm referring to and it can be as simple as a Yes or No.

DSess - other than opening day(s), we can go out to my Grandpa's farm and/or ranch pretty much anytime. Birds can be hit or miss at both places(as with any place other than Mexico). One is central zone, the other is south zone.

Only requirement for crew members to hunt is to have a valid hunting license and hunter's education certificate. I would love for everyone to be able to go blast some shit, but I don't want any issues with game wardens.

I'm also down for a camping trip whenever.

Dan, you are by far the most agressive energy salesman I know. . .

C, sounds good to me -- I have my hunter's ed and re-up for migratory bird and dove every season. I'd be down for hunting birds in any zone and recently finished my AR-15 for shooting bigger things. . . I bet we could put it to use on some coyotes or pigs if your Grandpa's farm has 'em. Otherwise, lets see if we can get the camping trip together -- it would be a fun weekened in early October if we can swing it.

Metty, guess who never left?!?! The real D Sess . . . although sometimes there are prolonged delays in my posts. Anywho, I'm still here and will make special appearances for Luke's wedding and other festivities as we plan 'em.

Keep it real homies.

I'm in as long as I can use my new Derringer. Should be appropriate.

I'll be like John Cazale in the Deer Hunter.

fuck yeah, i'm in on both fronts! Have never been bird hunting before but hunted white tail for about 10 yrs.

if we do camp and not hunt, I suggest somewhere with water access bc it will be hot (unless we go to the falls)

pedernales is a great spot bc they have water and enchanted rock is right there and they have great climbing/ hiking

Are we thinking aug /sept/ oct?

my vote is for OCT

In on either, I have a 10man tent that's ready to go! Also have guns but don't hunt that much anymore after that unforgettable time with Dan. Let me know!

I'm down for camping, but hunting not so much. In fact, I went camping at lost maples about a month ago.

Comacho has a good idea about camping near water if we do a summer trip. We could go tubing or canoeing or kayaking. I hear there is some nice waterfront camping in some reservoir upstream of LBJ. I'll look into it.
