Crew Spurs Fans: Thoughts on the Draft/Trade

What do y'all think of Kawhi Leonard? Highest spurs draft selection since Timmy.

Can he be the next Bruce Bowen and bring defense back to San Antonio?

He has a longer wingspan than Andrew Bynum (7'3"!!! are you freaking kidding me?) and bigger hands than Shaq. He's got those freakish bowen-esque physical attributes that make him a potential lock down defender at 4 different positions. Apparently he was one of the only guys in the tournament to put the clamps on Jimmer Freddette. He's also an excellent rebounder. I think he's the kinda blue collar player that can thrive on the spurs.

I'd love for this guy to start over RJ at some point this season if we don't ship his ass out for a bacon and egg taco (without cheese and they forgot to put the salsa in the bag and they steamed the tortilla.)

I would totally trade RJ for a bacon and egg taco, might even accept it from Taco C.

I am a huge fan of what the Spurs did in the draft. Yes, it sucks giving up Georgie, but we had two starting point guards on our team, one had to go. I love George Hill, but Tony has done more for this franchise and is frankly just a better player. I have a great feeling about Kawhi Leonard, his wingspan makes him like a 7 footer. Lets get back to defense, Spurs in 2012~!

RJ. owned. u Houdini of a basketball player

I'm sort of concerned in the sense that he is another undersized PF who rebounds and hustles (like blair, although blair has an offensive game.

however the spurs addressed some their needs inthe form of a multi-position defender and got closer to their core values (defense) BUT they did not address the need of slasher/scorer.

as far as hill goes, it had to be done and in the end it works out for both parties. Hill goes home and gets to play for his team he loved as a kid, and the spurs got this potentially dynamic rebounder / defender

but like van gundy said "whenever the spurs draft i usually assume its a good move"

Great move, can't wait to see what kind of synergy they come up with once they get used to one another.
