Well, friday is the day this year folks, where crew from all around, crew like chris todd and gregalo, dan and jory, bdub and kdal, ryno and alex, etc etc etc...we usually do the oasis, but i got some feedback and beleive it or not, there is some in the crew who are getting tired of our ole watering hole...so my friends we are open to new places, there is a place ny blossom called Faulkners that is not to bad, but stone oak is not very inviting for a chill place, so let me know

Playoff Bound!

Screw the BCS mess, Division 1 (AA) playoffs start this Saturday with Texas State taking on #4 Montana (1pm central).

Unlike a really long math equation deciding who plays who for a national championship in the BCS, Texas State will be playing their way through a 16 team playoff tournment starting Saturday in Montana to decide an "outright" champion.

Thanksgiving golfing

What up all! Hyper-hypo here re-emerging on the blog after a brief hiatus. I hope and know you guys are all doing well. So...

Thanksgiving is next weekend...everyone is gonna be here... We should play some golf. We can hit up a muni, play a private if we have an "in", hit up a driving range, or fart around on a par 3. It'll be a fun opportunity for us all to catch up and drink beer.

I searched golf210.com for tee times and discounts, but nothing came up. I'm not too sure if they're on top of their shit though.

Friday and Saturday would be the ideal day.

Shocker at the White House!

I have no idea what the background of this shocking picture is, but I can assure you all that President Bush and the White House staff are all, in fact, repping the shocker.

Reminds me of a story Dallas, Cody, and I experienced in Chicago leaving the Cubs game.

As we made our way towards the station to catch the L we detected an unsettling and confrontational tone in a conversation taking place between a street vendor and a somewhat unkempt gentlemen.

The situation quickly gathered steam as the unkempt gentlemen exclaimed with ferocity, "Do you know who I am?" "I'm the shocker!"

We didn't know it at the time, but upon turning around to assess the state of affairs, we soon realized that we were in the presence of none other than 'The Shocker'. Or atleast that's what his T-Shirt and general persona proclaimed.

Dark Side of the Moon Laser Light Show

The House of Blues here in Dallas, TX will be hosting the Pink Floyd laser light show at 7:00 on Friday January 16, 2009 and Saturday January 17, 2009, floor tickets costs approximately $65.00 (as of present).

I'm planning on going to the show on Saturday. Anybody interested in going is welcome to crash at my place for the weekend -- it promises to be a good time no matter how many times you may (or may not) have seen the show!

Checklist for Tcu-Utah Game

For you Utah fans:

1. Bring all your kids so you can have a cheering section
2. I am going to leave this at this bc any more is bordering on offenisve...and plus this is really for the TCU kids


For you tcu fans:

1. Make sure to scheduled no fridays classes, bc half or your games are on thursday night
2. Find a sports bar or any places that has Versus, bc i think that is the only channel that plays TCU games
3. Make sure you remind any Tech fan who is happy about the win on saturday, that tcu beat TECH the last time we played....but leave out how it was 12-3, and we won the year before
4. Bring your Patterson for President posters
5. Look into a tougher schedule for these upcoming years
6. Quit fighting w/ your frat bros on who was the best frog in history...Sammy Baugh or Davey Obrien....dont even bring LT into this
7. Remember the great season of 1929...oh the memories
8. Be lucky you dont have that Franchione guy anymore
9. Get ready for 2010 when we take back congress and kick some froggy ass....if you check wikepedia... it list TCU rivalries, and tech is listed as one...we lead the series 28-23-3

Has the Crew reached any sort of concensus on (un)official plans for New Years?

Depending on what everybody has going on, I just thought I would renew my "firm offer" to host a party at K Dal's lakehouse (or other location, say, Gregalo's land, for example).

Alternatively, is anybody down for a New Years trip? Maybe The Vegas (or somewhere else fun with a plethora of readily available, morally questionable attractive young women)?

We should start making plans if there's not already something in the works! We can blow it up if we plan in advance.

P.S. -- Congratulations to all you Techies, job well done. I celebrated your victory in Waco after BU just barely lost to Missouri for our own homecoming. . . f***.

While 27 is all of these things, (with possible exception of average crew age) it's also the number of posts we've had in the month of October. That's almost a post a day!

UT and Texas Tech Checklists for this Weekend

Daniel Camacho and I have decided to feature a regular part of the Jim Rome Show on the blog. During the week preceding a big game, emailers send in their checklists on what the opposing team is probably doing to gear up for the big game. It's basically a listing of all tbe stereotypes of a particular region. The west coast vs midwest US are always the best, but being Texans I think we can discriminate between ourselves pretty well.

So here's the listing Camacho and I came up with for Texas Tech:

1. Apply cow shit cleaner/pretreatment to boots.
2. Grab gas card so you can drive an hour to go get beer.

7. Bring pet goat to tailgate.

Hmoestead Suites III, is the lovely resort we have blocked off...the phone number is 512.837.6677. We have 20 blocked off and heres the breakdown....we have 6 Queens with a pull out sofa...those bad boys will run you $80.48, after tax...we also have 6 rooms with 2 doubles...thats going run you $83.94...the rest are going to be @ $74.47, and they will included one single queen....like i said its about 4miles, 8min...and each room has a kintchenttte, so if you want breakfast in bed to turn to breakfast and head...we might have you covered!!!

Haloweeeeen Party at Lukes

Well is anyone wondering where they are going to stay in austin the night of NOV 1st...well luke got a block of rooms, ranging from $70 (after taxes, queen bed) to $82 (after taxes two doubles)...the hotel is 4.2 miles from his house, and if you want this rate you have to book by monday...the next post will have the location of hotel and phone number....so if you dont book by monday, you foked if you want to stay here....make it happen boys
