Retreat Update

Ladies, Gentlemen and Dan:

The time is drawing near for our weekend getaway. We have had some excellent comments in response to the last blog, thank you all for your input. In no particular order, and subject to change as always, here is a brief summary of things to anticipate this upcoming weekend:
  • Car Bombs (Baileys, Jameson whiskey, and Guiness);
  • Bloody Marys (Tito's vodka & Zing Zang mix);
  • Keg of Budweiser beer;*
  • BBQ (brisket and/or ribs), hamburgers and/or steak(fajitas);
  • Breakfast tacos (2x bacon, eggs, cheese, beans, pico de gallo, tortillas) and those delicious powdered donuts in a bag;
  • "Innebriated snacks" (by way of example only, mixes, nuts, chips, etc);
  • FAB & good times the likes of which will not be soon forgotten.

At a bare minimum, I need to briefly confer with the following people ASAP to make all of this happen:

  • Ryno, C $, Cervenka (collectively, the "SWT Graduates") (re: best place in San Marcos to buy keg of Bud heavy beer; ensure keg is filled);
  • Mety (re: further food suggestions, amounts; making it all happen; etc);
  • Alex (re: drop off/delivery of keg and tap to Ryno or Mety; further food suggestions, amounts, etc);*
  • Joel Goff (re: blunts, 40 ozs, and bitchez ) (oh yeah, and being so money, baby).

Look forward to seeing you all.

* Ryno & Metty, do you guys mind taking one for the Crew & filling said keg in San Marcos?!?!?

Keg of Bud at little HEB in SM is $95. I called to confirm this.

Excellent -- thanks Cody! Thats one item off of the list. Unless anybody else has better suggestion, that works fine for me (and is cheaper than anticipated).

Get excited buddy, its going to be good times.

We will need a lot of ice for keg and or mix drinks, since ice makers dont work very well, and bud heavy needs to be "very" cold to enjoy properly.

Agreed Cervenka; we'll solve this issue at Forrest's outpost on last leg in to lakehouse (a Circle K I think).

Shout out to the SWT Grads, thank you gentlemen.

BTW, does anybody have recommendation on where to economically purchase Guiness?!?!?! I personally prefer mixed drinks over shots, but the majority has spoken, so I'll do my best. Suggestions (still) welcome.

I can bring an extra ice chest (which will probably hold 2-3 bags of ice) and ice.

It would probably be good if we bring quite a few so we aren't running to the store a bunch.

What time is everyone planning on arriving on Friday? I get off work at 3 (hopefully), so I can be up there by about 5.

If I can help out with picking anything up just let me know.

Costco has 18's of Guiness (the tallboy ones) for $23 or something, Joel said he would take care of car bombs and we were going to go tomorrow, should we get atleast 2x 18 packs of guiness?

I think its about time we got a keg-r-ator

Unless you guys are insisting on doing that, its not necessary -- I planned to grab that stuff up here. However, if you guys want to grab the Guiness and leave the Jameson & Baileys to me, thats fine.

Also, the Costco didnt have Guiness Stout, only some other type of Guiness (???). All recipes I've seen use the Stout, but I dont know if thats critical or not.
